    Description

    SAIC is seeking a **Senior Mechanical Engineer** at **NSA Crane** . You will be part of a collaborative team of engineers and support technicians working to bring a variety of mechanical designs from the early concept stage all the way through fabrication. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and management services for several mechanical launch/platform systems.

    Job Duties:

    Tasking will include project management of products assigned, including resource management, scheduling, and quality assurance of products.

     

    + Work directly with vendors and manufacturers of mechanical systems, custom fabrications, and assemblies to ensure on time and sufficient deliverables.

    + Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently with changing deadlines and priorities.

    + Interact directly with customers to extract requirements, generate a plan, and report status.

    + Responsible for leading multi-disciplined team of engineers, logisticians, and technicians to ensure program objectives are met.

    + Candidate shall be responsible for ensuring that technical and programmatic issues associated with the effective execution of the program are resolved.

    + Candidate shall be responsible for reviewing and interpreting technical requirements, developing, and defending the program budget, and ensuring project execution.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    + B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and five (5) years or more experience or Master's and three (3) years or more experience.

    + Experience with engineering design and analysis in areas such as vibration, acceleration/shock, thermal and pressure.

    + Experience with Systems Engineering principals.

    + Problem solving capabilities - identifying and analyzing problems, seeks/generates and evaluates alternative solutions.

    + Demonstrates ability to clearly and effectively communicate and present information to a wide range of audiences.

    + Must be a US citizen able to obtain clearance up to the level of SECRET.

    Desired Qualifications:

    + FEA (ANSYS), MATLAB, CFD/Aerodynamics, Vibration analysis, and Heat transfer/thermal analysis.
