The State of Minnesota is committed to equity and inclusion, and invests in employees by providing benefits, support resources, and training and development opportunities.
This is a temporary position that will lead the coordination and implementation of the Council’s statewide Community Needs Assessment and serve as the agency’s primary liaison to the Collaboration for Data Disaggregation (CDD). This role ensures the successful execution of project deliverables, supports the development of inclusive data standards, and helps translate community-informed findings into statewide policy and practice. Through strong project management and cross-sector collaboration, the Program Coordinator will advance equity in data collection and use across Minnesota. Some of the job duties include:
+ Lead the Council’s role in statewide data equity initiatives, ensuring LGBTQIA2S+ inclusion and fulfillment of project deliverables.
+ Manage the Community Needs Assessment project, coordinating vendors, outreach, and reporting.
+ Facilitate stakeholder engagement across agencies, consultants, and community partners.
+ Develop inclusive communication materials to support transparency and public understanding.
+ Support data analysis and reporting to inform policy and improve services.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Minimum of three years in project management, program coordination, policy implementation, or a related field
+ Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, timelines, and deliverables.
+ Strong facilitation and communication skills, including the ability to coordinate diverse partners and translate technical or policy information into accessible language.
+ Familiarity with public sector programs, data equity initiatives, or community-based research.
+ Understanding of basic data concepts (e.g., data disaggregation, equity-focused data use); technical expertise is not required but ability to coordinate with data professionals is essential.
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to track progress, flag issues, and adapt plans as needed.
+ Knowledge of LGBTQIA2S+ communities, including barriers to equitable data collection and approaches to inclusive engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Proven ability to work collaboratively across sectors, especially with government agencies, community organizations, and consultants.
+ Demonstrated success in community engagement with historically underrepresented or marginalized groups, especially LGBTQIA2S+ communities.
+ Experience contributing to or managing research projects, including data collection, analysis, or translating findings for non-technical audiences.
+ Excellent writing and communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise, and accessible reports, summaries, or other materials for diverse audiences
+ Experience coordinating external vendors or consultants, including contract management.
+ Experience launching new projects or initiatives, including establishing workflows, timelines, and communications.
Additional Requirements
This position requires successful completion of an employment reference check, and background check by American Databank. A criminal history does not automatically disqualify an applicant, and each case will be reviewed individually in alignment with fair hiring practices.
