    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Performs responsible supervisory work in all aspects of the operation and management of COTA's two storerooms, including the provision of parts and supplies used in the maintenance and operation of COTA's revenue vehicles and facilities.

     

    Performs other duties in alignment with the COTA Strategic Plan and in support of the organization's vision to Move Every Life Forward.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    + Manages and ensures the accuracy of the inventory control activities of the COTA Storerooms, including all functions related to receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping supplies, equipment, and parts in an automated environment;

    + Supervises personnel working in the areas of shipping, receiving, storing and issuing supplies and equipment; ensures all shifts are properly scheduled and staffed; monitors employee attendance and initiates appropriate discipline for actions in violation of the bargaining agreement; may resolve Step 1 grievances;

    + Applies methodologies and statistical analysis to forecast, schedule, and manage COTA's inventory to maximize efficiencies while minimizing inventory levels and financial investments in vehicle parts;

    + Works closely with the Director of Supply Management and Storeroom Manager to develop strategic purchasing plans and ensure accurate inventory levels are maintained; identifies appropriate intervention to resolve problems and streamline inventory processes;

    + Analyzes inventory levels, obsolescence, usage patterns, and methods of inventory utilization; provides input and/or assists with product cost analysis, investment analysis, monthly inventory reconciliations, annual budget, and performance measurement reporting; assists in the annual physical inventory of all storeroom assets;

    + Assists with the development and maintenance of operating policies and procedures, focusing on operating controls, while providing excellent customer service;

    + Coordinates with Vehicle Maintenance Supervisors and the Procurement team to expedite parts required to maintain buses; initiates requisitions for parts, tools, and supplies;

    + Maintains the security, accuracy, and accountability of all parts inventory by implementing and enforcing inventory control procedures, conducting regular audits, and ensuring proper storage and access protocols are followed;

    + Manages warranty and core return programs; coordinates with suppliers for exchange or credit for parts; and

    + Conducts end of month/ end of year system close and reconciliation.

    + Supervises and provides leadership for their staff. Trains, develops, and appraises staff effectively. Ensures the organization meets its EEO responsibilities by assisting in identifying problem areas, participating in review of complaints alleging discrimination, and supporting career counseling for employees. Takes corrective action as necessary, on a timely basis, and in accordance with policy;

    + Fills in for the Storeroom Manager in their absence. May be required to be available through a mobile device via voice during and outside of normal working hours, at the director's discretion, and must respond within a reasonable timeframe; and

    + Performs other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    + Requires an Associate's Degree in business administration, supply chain management or related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience managing inventory in an automated environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in business or public administration.
