**Location: Hybrid** – Based in Southeastern Connecticut or near a DXC office. Candidates within 25 miles of a DXC office must work onsite two days per week. Preferred locations: Plano, TX · Detroit/Farmington Hills, MI · Nashville, TN · New York City, NY · New Orleans, LA · Ashburn, VA · Tulsa, OK
**Overview:** We are seeking an entry-level programmer to join our team supporting critical financial systems. In this role, you will develop, test, and maintain software applications while also providing technical support to end-users. The position offers the opportunity to work with mainframe systems, COBOL and/or SAS, and relational databases, with exposure to financial systems and accounting processes. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong analytical skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Essential Job Functions
+ Codes, tests, debugs, implements, and documents basic programs according to the specifications provided
+ Writes specifications for programs or enhancements to existing programs
+ Participates in peer reviews
+ Assists in creating unit and other test plans for assigned programming tasks and evaluating results
+ Provides technical and production support to end-users
+ Share with other team members the support of critical systems that might involve working some evenings or holidays.
Basic Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, finance, mathematics, or related field preferred
+ One plus years of programming experience
+ _Experience working with mainframes using COBOL and/or SAS applications_
+ _Experience working with relational databases to facilitate programming software_
+ _Experience supporting financial systems or knowledge of accounting a plus._

Additional Requirements
This role supports an ITAR-compliant client account with specific security and work authorization requirements:
+ Must be ITAR-compliant and able to provide proof of citizenship.

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $45,800 - $74,800.
Full-time hires are eligible to participate in the DXC benefit program.
