Summary:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and people-focused **HR Assistant** to join our team! In this role, you’ll provide vital support across a variety of human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and maintaining accurate HR records. You’ll be the go-to resource for employees and managers with day-to-day questions, helping to create a positive workplace experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Perform administrative tasks to support new hire processing and orientation process.
• Perform administrative tasks to support benefits administration, workers' compensation, and leaves of absences processes.
• Create and maintain personnel files.
• Ensure that personnel files are in compliance with state and federal regulations as well as COA.
• Maintain HRIS including processing and entering of all relevant information.
• Monitor and respond to human resources phone line, e-mail account, and provide HR Service Desk coverage.
•Conduct reference and background verification as needed.
• Generate, evaluate and share various reports as scheduled.
• Attend, perform, and complete all trainings as assigned.
• Prepare paperwork for new hire processing, printing required paperwork from online system to be filed in new hire file.
• Provide assistance to new hires and staff regarding Sweetser benefits, leaves of absences, wellness, and safety program(s) including but not limited to group medical, dental, life, disability, health savings accounts (HSA), reimbursement accounts, COBRA, pension and retirement plans, voluntary benefits, work related injuries, short- and long-term disability claims, wellness, ergonomics, and safety.
• Assist with annual Open Enrollment by participating in communication meetings and assisting employees with Open Enrollment benefit adjustments.
• Assist with annual Employee Appreciation planning and coordination.
• Assist in the maintenance of the employee discount programs (i.e., ticket sales, discounts, etc.).
• Coordinate and participate in HR and organization-wide projects as needed to support organizational strategies.
•Provide coverage for other benefit, leave, wellness, and safety programs as needed to ensure consistent, quality service to employees and supervisors.
• Manage mail/mailings.

• Use judgement in determining priority of tasks assigned and follow through in a timely manner.
• Follow Suicide safer care practices.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Ability to support and recognize the important role that volunteers play. Sweetser employees work with, support, collaborate with volunteers, and promote opportunities for volunteer engagement.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must maintain a valid state driver’s license.
EXPERIENCE:
• Three (3) years of experience performing administrative tasks: manage multiple phone lines, intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, effective written and oral communication, file management, etc.
• Experience working with health and safety records and/or worker's compensation claims preferred.
