Job Description

Join a dynamic machine shop environment where your skills in metal cutting, drilling, grinding, and deburring will be utilized to produce high-quality parts according to blueprint specifications. As a Level III Machinist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of CNC machines and the overall productivity of the shop.

Responsibilities

+ Responsible for production, quality, housekeeping, and other related duties associated with operations.

+ Set up and operate CNC machines, transport materials, operate wash tanks, and use a forklift to move materials around the facility.

+ Conduct quality checks using gauges, rules, calipers, and other measuring tools.

+ Troubleshoot everyday problems and maintain flexibility to move between different machines as needed.

+ Stage parts using a forklift and pallet jack, load machines with raw materials, and offload finished parts.

+ Deburr parts and perform 'cut plug' operations using air-powered tools.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably around machines.

+ Experience running a machine in a manufacturing environment, CNC preferred.

+ Baseline experience with gauging and using quality measuring equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and dial bores.

+ Experience with sit-down and stand-up forklifts.

+ Strong math skills for measuring and determining part specifications.

Available Shifts & Pay

+ 1st shift: 7AM-3PM, Monday - Friday ( **$24.47** )

+ 2nd shift: 3PM-11PM, Monday - Friday ( **$25.33** )

+ 3rd shift: 11PM-7AM, Sunday - Thursday ( **$25.33** )

Work Environment

Work in a large, temperature-controlled facility with over 500 employees divided into five shifts. The environment is clean and safety-focused, with a relaxed dress code allowing sweatshirts, t-shirts, and jeans. Personal protective equipment, including steel or composite toe shoes, earplugs, and protective glasses, is required. The shop has strict policies on cell phone usage and listening devices to ensure safety and productivity.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.47 - $24.47/hr.
