Job Title: Machine Repair Technician

Job Description

Join our team as a Machine Repair Technician on a flexible 1st shift, typically running from 7 AM to 3 PM, with occasional extended hours starting at 5 AM or ending at 5 PM, including some Saturdays. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain and repair machines to ensure they are operational for operators. The machines you'll work with include vacuum forms, trim presses, extruders, and robots. You will handle emergency floor calls, perform preventive maintenance, and take on projects.

Responsibilities

+ Maintain and repair vacuum forms, trim presses, extruders, and robots.

+ Respond to emergency floor calls and conduct preventive maintenance.

+ Troubleshoot electrical issues and understand PLC indicators.

+ Perform machine changeovers, pneumatic troubleshooting, and repairs.

+ Change oil, gearboxes, and motors as needed.

+ Weld guardings or platforms, and operate drill presses and manual mills for repairs.

+ Conduct basic facility maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs.

Essential Skills

+ 5 years of experience in machine repair.

+ 5 years of experience reading electrical schematics and blueprints.

+ 5 years of experience in preventive maintenance, including greasing, cleaning machines, and visual inspections.

+ Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, welding, and mechanical troubleshooting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with PLC troubleshooting (Allen Bradley & Siemens).

+ Experience troubleshooting robots (ABB & Fanuc).

Work Environment

Work in a plastic extrusion facility that primarily caters to the automotive sector. The environment can be loud and dirty in some areas, and ear plugs are required on the floor for safety.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
