    My client, a leading construction contractor in Hawaiʻi with over 100 years of experience delivering landmark projects across the islands, is expanding its Heavy Civil Division on Kauaʻi. They are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Superintendent to oversee large-scale infrastructure projects, including utilities, site development, roadways, and drainage improvements.

     

    This is a unique opportunity to bring leadership, technical expertise, and safety focus to one of the state’s most trusted builders while working on projects that will help shape Kauaʻi’s future.

    What You’ll Do

    + Direct and supervise crews and subcontractors on utilities, drainage, earthwork, road, and site development projects.

    + Oversee daily field operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.

    + Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent tools.

    + Coordinate labor, equipment, and material deliveries to maximize efficiency.

    + Track progress against budgets and production goals, addressing variances proactively.

    + Enforce all safety protocols, including OSHA and EM 385-1-1 compliance.

    + Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to resolve issues and approve work plans.

    + Maintain consistent communication with owners, inspectors, and stakeholders.

    + Assist with project closeout documentation and turnover packages.

    + Anticipate challenges and deliver solutions that keep projects on track.

    + Build strong relationships with crews, subcontractors, and clients.

    + Uphold my client’s reputation for safety, quality, and community-focused infrastructure delivery.

    Qualifications

    + 10+ years of construction experience, with at least 5+ years as a Superintendent on heavy civil projects.

    + Strong background in utilities, grading, drainage, paving, or site development.

    + Knowledge of OSHA and EM 385-1-1 safety standards.

    + Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, and schedules.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Primavera P6 experience preferred.

    + Strong leadership, communication, and subcontractor management skills.

    + Hawaiʻi or Kauaʻi construction experience highly preferred.
