Description
Robert Half is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join a dynamic and fast-paced insurance defense team at a reputable law firm. This position is critical to supporting attorneys in all phases of litigation, from initial case assessment through trial. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in insurance defense, exceptional organizational skills, and a proactive approach to managing case files and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including case preparation, discovery, trial, and post-trial activities.
+ Conduct legal research, gather, and analyze information to support case strategies.
+ Manage case files, ensuring all documents, correspondence, and records are accurate, organized, and up to date.
+ Draft and proofread legal documents such as motions, pleadings, subpoenas, discovery requests/responses, and settlement agreements.
+ Coordinate deposition scheduling, witness preparation, and trial logistics.
+ Organize and maintain electronic discovery (eDiscovery) databases, including document production and review.
+ Communicate effectively with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders.
+ Track deadlines, monitor calendars, and ensure compliance with court rules and procedural requirements.
+ Assist in trial preparation, including creation of trial binders, exhibits, and demonstratives.
Requirements
+ Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of litigation paralegal experience, with a focus on insurance defense preferred.
+ Knowledge: Familiarity with local court rules and procedures; experience with eDiscovery platforms and legal case management software.
+ Skills: Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
+ Competencies: Ability to manage multiple priorities, adhere to strict deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
+ Past experience in trial preparation and courtroom support.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage large volumes of discovery materials.
+ Familiarity with liability and insurance-related legal issues.
