    Job Title: Project Engineer Job Description

     

    The Project Engineer will provide essential technical, quality control, and administrative support to Superintendents and Project Managers on a construction project site. This role ensures that all work complies with specified approved work plans and submittals. The Project Engineer will conduct field quality control tests and manage quality control and production records while working with project specifications, drawings, and documentation. Additionally, the individual will assist in ordering materials, managing purchase orders, and maintaining inventory. The project includes a 2,000-foot grout curtain structure designed to mitigate water infiltration.

    Responsibilities

    + Ensure all work follows specified approved work plans and submittals.

    + Perform field quality control tests and manage quality control and production records.

    + Work with project specifications, drawings, and documentation.

    + Assist in ordering materials, purchase orders, and inventory management.

    + Coordinate field crews to perform water testing, load testing, pilot tests, and water tightness tests.

    Essential Skills

    + 1-5 years of experience in Construction or Engineering for Civil, Heavy Civil, Highway, or Transportation projects.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Suite or relevant technology for reporting.

    + Experience working with construction drawings and specifications.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.

    + Knowledge of construction management support, earth retention, construction inspection, OSHA regulations, environmental and civil engineering, structural engineering, and heavy civil and highway construction.

    Work Environment

    The work is located on-site in Sault Ste. Marie, Northern Michigan, with projects also in Minnesota, Louisiana, and Ohio. Lodging is provided, along with a $60/day per diem. Employees will have the opportunity to travel home for an extended weekend every two weeks, with travel expenses covered at the IRS rate or through provided flights. The project involves collaboration with a large General Contractor and subcontractors.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kalamazoo, Michigan.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $38.47/hr.
