Lab Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Assistant to conduct daily batch and physical testing for our manufacturing operations. This role involves employing standard chemical assays according to established protocols, operating laboratory computers, analytical instrumentation, and systems, and performing troubleshooting and calibrations as required.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct daily batch and physical testing for manufacturing operations using standard chemical assays.

+ Operate and troubleshoot laboratory computers, analytical instrumentation, and systems.

+ Perform incoming raw material testing, comparing analytical results to benchmarks and verifying quality.

+ Document analytical data, audit information, logs, and specifications in compliance with company policy.

+ Assist in investigating non-chemical material anomalies on the manufacturing floor.

+ Support plant trial requests as necessary.

+ Adhere to good laboratory practices for the safe and proper handling of chemicals.

+ Perform cleaning and housekeeping tasks for both the laboratory environment and analytical equipment.

+ Collaborate with chemists to perform additional duties as assigned.

+ Ensure regular and predictable attendance.

Essential Skills

+ 1+ years of experience in a lab or testing environment using wet chemistry procedures preferred.

+ Experience in a lab setting, whether Medical, Manufacturing, or Food related.

+ Ability to troubleshoot and perform calibrations.

+ Experience in a manufacturing environment and chemical handling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Open to candidates with or without a degree.

+ Strong oral and written communication skills.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

+ Good organizational and time management skills.

+ Flexibility to work a variable schedule.

+ Ability to adapt to change and demonstrate ambiguity.

+ Knowledge of HPLCs is a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
