    Job Title: Geological Engineer

    Job Description

    As a Geological Engineer, you will evaluate and interpret subsurface field and sampling data, including soil and groundwater, to develop conclusions about environmental and geologic site conditions. You will generate subsurface maps and cross-sections and collaborate with engineering and environmental scientist staff on projects. Your role will also include overseeing field monitoring and testing of soils, including boring investigations and soil type classification, and interpreting soil, bedrock, and groundwater elevation and quality data. Additionally, you will prepare written plans and reports related to site investigations, assessments, and remediation activities.

    Responsibilities

    + Evaluate and interpret subsurface field and sampling data including soil and groundwater.

    + Generate subsurface maps and cross-sections.

    + Collaborate with engineering and environmental scientist staff on projects.

    + Oversee field monitoring and testing of soils, including boring investigations and soil type classification.

    + Interpret soil, bedrock, and groundwater elevation and quality data.

    + Prepare written plans and reports related to site investigations, assessments, and remediation activities.

    + Work on construction projects focusing on earthwork and structural foundations.

    + Design and sample wells.

    + Conduct environmental assessments, including Phase I/II site assessments.

    + Perform seismic risk assessments.

    Essential Skills

    + Geology degree required.

    + Must be a Geologist in Training (GIT) or on track to achieve GIT.

    + Experience in civil engineering and environmental engineering.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Field engineering experience.

    + Experience in both field and office environments.

    The work environment includes both fieldwork and office settings. The position is based in Lexington, KY.     This is a Permanent position based out of Lexington, Kentucky.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
