Job Title: Senior Industrial Engineer

Job Description

The Senior Industrial Engineer is a vital problem-solver, change agent, and project manager responsible for enhancing manufacturing processes. This role focuses on driving manufacturing initiatives through process flows, value stream mapping, 5S methodologies, and evaluating large data sets. The primary objective is to develop and implement more streamlined processes and efficiencies within the plant.

Responsibilities

+ Design and implement process flows and value stream mapping.

+ Utilize 5S methodologies to improve manufacturing processes.

+ Evaluate large data sets to identify areas for improvement.

+ Spend 60% of time in office for design and project planning.

+ Spend 40% of time on the floor conducting time studies, observing processes, and gathering information for continuous improvement.

+ Focus on continuous and process improvement, including equipment layout and robotic welding cells.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology.

+ 4+ years of industrial engineering experience, including time study, lean, kaizen, plant layout, equipment layout, continuous improvement, and ergonomics.

+ Proficiency in 2D plant layout design.

+ Prior automotive industry experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Knowledge of the Maynard Operation Sequence Technique (MOST) or similar work measurement system.

+ Experience with 3D design.

Work Environment

This role is based in a large manufacturing facility that specializes in producing sheet metal for shelving units. The facility is an older building with some dated equipment and can be noisy due to active fabrication and manufacturing lines. Engineers will primarily work on the production floor, collaborating with production support to execute their projects. The work environment offers a flexible schedule, casual dress code, and a laid-back atmosphere. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $57.00/hr.
