Description

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. This role is integral to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. Responsibilities:

• Record and classify financial transactions using QuickBooks to ensure accurate bookkeeping.

• Manage accounts payable processes, including reviewing invoices, preparing payments, and maintaining vendor records.

• Handle accounts receivable tasks such as generating invoices, recording payments, and following up on outstanding balances.

• Perform monthly reconciliations of bank and credit card statements to ensure accuracy.

• Maintain comprehensive and organized financial documentation for internal and external use.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports for internal review and decision-making.

• Apply cost allocation methods and manage grant-related financial activities with precision.

• Utilize Excel or Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting tasks.

• Collaborate effectively within a small team environment to support organizational goals.

Salary: 70,000 - 80,000

Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

• Strong knowledge of corporate tax, including tax returns and sales tax processes.

• Proficiency in journal entries and maintaining the general ledger.

• Experience with grant accounting and cost allocation methods.

• Familiarity with nonprofit organizations or fund accounting is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets for financial analysis and reporting.

• Ability to adapt and contribute effectively in a small team setting.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
