    Complete Description:

    Enterprise IT Solutions and Innovation division provides technical guidance, cloud based application design and development, software development, system design, and services in the maintenance, enhancement, and integration of existing and new enterprise applications to efficiently accomplish the mission of the organization and optimize the business value of technology. Application Developers lead or participate in cross functional development and maintenance, governing changes and planning for continuous improvement of a consistent, shared, reusable architecture that allows CalSTRS to obtain the optimum value for the investments made in technology.

     

    Enterprise IT Solutions and Innovation division is seeking a skilled full stack Cloud Developer to design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud based applications and infrastructure. The role involves creating robust cloud native solutions using platforms primarily on AWS platform. The developer will collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Product teams to build services that are secure, resilient, and aligned with business goals.

     

    Key responsibilities include developing Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, optimizing cloud performance, modernizing applications to be cloud ready, ensuring application security, and automating infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Experience in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), serverless architecture, and cloud monitoring tools is preferred.

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

    + At least three 3 to five 5 years of experience with AWS cloud platform and services like Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)/virtual machines (VM) Instances, S3/Cloud Storage, Serverless (AWS Lambda, Cloud Functions), and IAM (Identity & Access Management).

    + At least three 3 to five 5 years with CI/CD tools in particular GitHub and basic version control workflows.

    + At least three 3 years of experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.

    + At least three 3 to five 5 years of experience to build, deploy, and debug basic web applications with familiarity with APIs [Representational State Transfer (REST)] and using Python, Node.js or C#.

    + At least three 3 years of experience using Docker, Kubernetes [Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)] and container orchestration.

    + At least three 3 to five 5 years of experience of structured query language (SQL) and/or not only SQL (NoSQL) databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB).

    + At least three 3 to five 5 years of experience with Encryption standards, Secrets management (AWS Secrets Manager, HashiCorp Vault), Compliance frameworks [Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and System and Organization Controls 2 (SOC2)].

    Desirable Technical Qualifications:

    + Familiarity with the AWS Well Architected Framework and ability to apply its principles in designing scalable and secure solutions.

    + Experience with migrating legacy systems to AWS cloud native services or re-platforming existing workloads.

    + Experience with cost optimization strategies using AWS Cost Explorer, Trusted Advisor, or resource tagging and chargeback models.

    + Experience with automated security and compliance enforcement using tools like AWS Config, Security Hub, or custom Lambda policies.

    + Experience setting up centralized logging using CloudWatch Logs, CloudTrail, or third party tools like Splunk.

    + Scripting experience with Bash, PowerShell, or equivalent.

    + Experience with Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) cloud services (e.g., SageMaker) and multi cloud architecture.
