The pay range is $92,000.00 - $166,000.00

As the Senior Engineer of Safety, you will be responsible as a program owner for partnering with Target business units to ensure new equipment and modifications to existing equipment installed in new/legacy buildings comply with all applicable codes, regulations and accredited standards (ie OSHA/ANSI). This includes, integration of safety systems into the design of new and existing equipment in pursuit of building a safer place to work and shop at Target. The Sr. Engineer of Safety or SES will partner with various design and engineering teams such as, but not limited to; Engineering/Automation, Operations Solution Design, Activation, Engineering/Facilities and Field Operations teams, as well as other key stakeholders. You will lead risk assessments processes or RAP and assist in the development/review of equipment designs while providing guidance on requirements on controls and closing findings. The SES will also be required to support your clients by leading projects through the entire go-live process (from design to activation). You are an effective communicator and are able to send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing and possess excellent program management skills. As such, you are an accountable self-drive team member. As an expert in safety and ergonomic design principles, you will put Safety first for Target. You must also have applied understanding of applicable regulations, codes and standards. Ensure all risk and compliance obligations are reflected within key HQ programs, while establishing proper risk tolerance for the organization. Work with HQ partners to develop and influence on key safety programs/standards, to include establishing/sustaining a strong safety culture. Develop a strategic project plan to deploy digestible safety programs/standards to the field, while aligning to industry and regulatory standards. Ensure alignment with the business during deployment, and support the development of safety standards and training.

About you:
+ Bachelor’s Degree B.A./B.S in engineering, safety, or equivalent experience
+ Direct or indirect proven Safety leadership
+ Certification in Safety (CSP) or related professional certification/s
+ Ability to influence and direct partners and leadership
+ Proven problem solving and analytical skills
+ Excellent relationship building and collaboration
+ Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
+ Proven knowledge and use of Microsoft products
+ Ability to travel as required
