Within the Meeting Lifecycle Team, we’re evolving to deliver intelligent, context-aware features while ensuring high performance, scalability, and efficiency. We’re looking for a **Senior Software Engineer** to design, build, and optimize experiences powered by next-generation AI capabilities in Teams. This is a unique opportunity to work on building world class experiences powered by natural language processing—all while collaborating with researchers and engineers across Microsoft.

Responsibilities
+ Champion in object-oriented languages, algorithms, data structures, and design patterns. Experience with React and TypeScript, or willingness to learn, is key.
+ Prototype, experiment, and evaluate new ideas to deliver next-generation AI-powered features that redefine how teams communicate and collaborate.
+ Apply advanced techniques in deep learning, natural language processing, and generative AI to improve user experience and enable intelligent features.
+ Work closely with global teams to develop new features.
+ Commitment to writing code that's not only functional but also well-designed, testable, and maintainable. Utilize best practices to build robust solutions.
+ Design & User Experience: Bring craft to product, build features that are not just functional but feel great to use, prioritizing aesthetics and user experience.
+ End-to-End Implementation: Diving into native code or learning new technologies.
+ Data-Driven Analysis: Analyze feature performance in production to continuously improve the product.
+ Mentorship & Growth: Engage in mentorship, code reviews, and knowledge sharing to foster the professional growth of the team.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 4+ years of experience designing & shipping production software.
+ 4+ years of experience with algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
Other Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
+ **Microsoft Cloud Background Check:** This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

+ Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ Application Design: Designing and delivering high-performance, reliable, accessible, and secure applications for a vast user base.
+ Data-Driven Development: Instrumenting apps and leveraging analytics and A/B testing to guide feature development.
+ Agile Methodology: Agile practices, frequent app releases, and the modern software development lifecycle.
Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
