Technical Manager Atlas Energy Solutions is seeking a Technical Manager to lead the development of an in-house team of conveyor experts for the Dune Express overland conveyor system. This role emphasizes training, coaching, and knowledge transfer to ensure operational excellence and long-term reliability. The Technical Manager will play a critical role in transforming Dune Express employees into skilled conveyor specialists, building a self-sustaining workforce that can operate and maintain this one-of-a-kind system. Responsibilities: + Design and deliver structured training programs on conveyor operation, safety, troubleshooting, and maintenance. + Develop certification pathways and skill assessments to create an internal pipeline of conveyor specialists. + Mentor and coach employees, fostering technical growth and leadership skills across the team. + Lead reliability initiatives including condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, and performance tracking. + Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and train the team in structured problem-solving methods. + Implement and monitor reliability KPIs to drive continuous improvement in system uptime and performance. + Create and maintain training manuals, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides tailored to the Dune Express system. + Standardize conveyor best practices across operations and maintenance groups. + Facilitate cross-training between functions to broaden the workforce’s technical depth. + Partner with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations to align training goals with technical objectives. + Act as the internal conveyor subject matter expert for leadership and frontline teams. + Promote a culture of ownership, reliability, and continuous learning throughout the organization. + Review the designs for new conveyor construction to make sure it is built in a maintainable fashion + Participate in scheduled updates with Executive Team and stakeholders + Coordinate multiple engineering design/supply organizations + Track plant reliability and carry out improvements to optimize equipment availability + Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: + At least 7 years of experience with overland and fixed conveyor systems. + Proven ability to train, mentor, and develop technical teams. + Strong expertise in equipment reliability, predictive maintenance, and condition monitoring. + Experience leading root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions. + Skilled in developing training programs, technical documentation, and certification structures. + Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership skills.
