    **Compensation:** $23.60 - 26.97/HR

    **Shift:** 1st

    **Shift Hours** : Mon - Fri, 8:00am - 5:00pm

    How will you make an impact?

     

    Join our dedicated Dock Specialist team in Unity Lab Services, where we ensure seamless logistics and support tailored to our customers' unique needs. We’re seeking an organized **Senior Shipping & Receiving Specialist** to manage shipping and receiving operations. You'll be the point of contact for customers and carriers, ensuring compliance and efficiency in all dock and shipping activities.

     

    A Day in the Life:

    + Generate, verify, and match shipping labels with incoming packages to ensure accuracy.

    + Maintain awareness of current SDS and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and ensure compliance.

    + Provide timely updates to customers regarding inventory levels, order status, and shipment schedules to ensure clear communication and customer satisfaction.

    + Identify order discrepancies and raise to appropriate personnel.

    + Ensure all incoming and outgoing packages are scanned accurately for inventory control.

    + Safely operate pallet jacks to move heavy packages and pallets.

    + Ensure proper handling and placement of items to prevent damage.

    + Import/Export of material goods, including chemicals

    + Coordinate the delivery of materials to the appropriate locations.

    + May perform other duties as assigned by management.

    Keys to Success:

    Education

    + High school diploma or equivalent required.

    Experience

    + 2-3 years of work experience in material handling: warehousing, shipping, and/or receiving is required.

    + Experience in a laboratory or scientific setting is a plus.

    + DOT/IATA Certification preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

    + Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams).

    + Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a safety-first approach.

    + Proficient in reading and interpreting shipping labels (DOT labeling), with the ability to be trained in the operation of pallet jacks and lift gates

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

    Physical Requirements / Work Environment

     

    The role primarily involves working independently at customer sites, which may include areas with chemical-based allergens like penicillin and tetracycline. Personal protective equipment, such as lab coats, coveralls, facemasks, and steel-toe shoes, is often required. The position requires regular lifting of 30-40 lbs (up to 50 lbs occasionally) and using equipment like pushcarts and forklifts to move up to 100 lbs. Standing, walking, reaching, and bending are frequent activities, sometimes in varied temperature environments. Overtime work may also be necessary.

    Compensation and Benefits

     

    The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $20.23–$30.34.
