    Northrop Grumman Space Systems is looking for you to join our team as a **Atmospheric Science Research Developer** based out of **Bellevue, Nebraska.** This position can be filled at Principal (Level 3) OR Sr. Principal (Level 4). _Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position._

    What you’ll get to do:

    + Apply environmental models and sensor data to evaluate the impact of the environment upon the performance of Northrop Grumman created capabilities such as the Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) effort.

    + Research and apply new capabilities to enhance the performance of weather radar

    + Conduct basic research in electromagnetic propagation to understand the impact of the environment at specific wavelengths and assist with sensor design for future radar and communication systems

    Basic Qualifications:

    + **Principal:** Bachelor’s degree in Atmospheric Science or similar discipline with 5 years of relevant experience; or 3 years’ experience with a Master’s degree; OR 1 years with PhD.

    + **Sr. Principal:** Bachelor’s degree in Atmospheric Science or similar discipline with 8 years of relevant experience; or 6 years’ experience with a Master’s degree; OR 4 years with PhD.

    + **Willing and able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance**

    + Experience with data analysis using a mix of environmental models, ground based and space based sensors

    + Familiarity with scripting and coding languages such as Python or MATLAB

    + Familiarity with weather radar

    + Familiarity with executing projects within an Agile framework

    + Self-driven, able to tackle challenges, solve problems with minimal oversight and make recommendation for solutions/process improvement to leadership

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills

    + Minimal travel is expected.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Familiarization with electromagnetic propagation models

     

    Primary Level Salary Range: $95,300.00 - $142,900.00

     

    Secondary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
