Special Education Teacher | Autism Support | $40/hr | Full-Time | 8-Month Contract | Phoenix, AZ

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support an autism classroom for grades 5–12 in Phoenix, AZ. This full-time, in-person role begins ASAP and runs through May 21, 2026, offering a competitive rate of $40/hour.

Position Overview:

+ Location: Phoenix, AZ

+ Start Date: ASAP

+ End Date: May 21, 2026

+ Schedule: Monday–Friday

+ Hours: 40/week (exact hours TBD by campus)

+ Modality: In-person

+ Interview: Virtual

Classroom Details:

+ Autism support classroom for grades 5–12

+ Caseload: 12 students or fewer

+ Classroom support: Typically 2–3 paraprofessionals

+ Strong candidates must be comfortable working with behavioral needs

Key Responsibilities:

+ Deliver specialized instruction and support for students with autism

+ Collaborate with general education staff and participate in IEP development

+ Provide tutorial assistance and consultation

+ Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines

Minimum Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)

+ Valid Arizona teaching certificate (ADE SPED License required; Alt Cert not accepted)

+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

+ Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred)

+ CPR certification, TB clearance, and health certificate as applicable

+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
