Position Summary:

The medical dosimetrist is a member of the radiation oncology team who has knowledge of the overall characteristics and clinical relevance of radiation oncology treatment machines and equipment, is cognizant of procedures commonly used in brachytherapy and has the education and expertise necessary to generate radiation dose distributions and dose calculations in collaboration with the medical physicists, radiation oncologists and therapists. Primarily produces treatment planning dosimetry calculations for external beam and implant cases.

+ Bachelor’s degree in medical dosimetry or related field (Associate’s Degree or Technical Diploma in Radiation Therapy if received prior to 2017) or in the final 6 months of clinical rotations of a dosimetry program.

+ Board certification within two years of hiring. Candidates hired prior to graduation may be granted an extension.

_Preferred:_

+ Master’s degree in medical dosimetry.

+ Active member of the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists (AAMD)
