Ready to take your nursing career into the exciting, fast-paced world of the PACU UPMC Shadyside is hiring a part-time Professional Staff Nurse to join our collaborative, high-performing OR team!

+ Schedule: Monday-Friday with occasional weekend call and one holiday call per year
+ Variable start times in preop and PACU from 5am to 3pm. PACU closes at 11:30pm. Shifts are staggered to accommodate OR schedule, will either be (2) x10s or (1)x8 & (1)x12
+ Cohesive team that works well together and very good culture in unit.
+ No Night shifts required
What You'll Do:
+ Deliver compassionate, patient-focused care in a Relationship-Based Care model
+ Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and fellow nurses to ensure the best patient outcomes
+ Apply advanced clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in a surgical setting
+ Participate in patient goal-setting and care planning
+ Document and communicate care effectively to the surgical team
+ Build meaningful relationships with patients, families, and colleagues
_Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the nursing career ladder, based on their individual experience and education._
+ 1+ years of nursing experience preferred.
+ BSN preferred
+ Experience is preferred but not required.
+ Critical thinking skills necessary to exercise and to lead others in application of the nursing process.
+ Mobility and visual manual dexterity. Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting and positioning of patients.
Licensure/Certification
+ Registered Nurse (RN)
+ UPMC approved national certification preferred.
+ Fit Testing Required
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
+ Act 33 with renewal
+ Act 34 with renewal
+ Act 73 FBI Clearance
