    UPMC (Sewickley, PA)


    Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am - 4:30 pm. No weekends or holidays! Free On-site parking.

     

    Occasional travel to Children's Pine Center - 11279 Perry Highway Suite 202 Wexford PA 15090 will be required

     

    Title and Rate of Pay will be based on Education and Experience.

     

    As a Medical Assistant, you'll work alongside our Life Changers to provide high-quality patient care. Build meaningful relationships with patients and create a safe, comforting environment.

    Responsibilities:

    + Coordinate schedule and patient flow; escort patients to exam rooms

    + Gather patient history, take vitals, perform screenings and relay provider instructions.

    + Assist with mobility, dressing, specimen collection and exam prep.

    + Answer call, provide patient education and manage front office tasks.

    + Handle medical records per HIPPA and regulatory guideline; verify insurance and procedures.

    + Administer injections and vaccines under physician supervision.

    + Prepare and clean exam rooms and equipment; maintain inventory and infection control standards.

    + Comply with OSHA, CLIA, PA Dept. of Health, and UPMC policies; ensure confidentiality.

    + Retrieve lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referrals; complete forms and manage charts.

    + High school diploma or equivalent is required.

    + Previous Pediatric experience preferred

    + Previous Out-Patient Experience preferred

    + Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

    + CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

    + Act 31 / Act 33 / Act 34 / Act 73 with renewal
