TheBusiness Systems Analyst (BSA) Transit Information/Customer Experience is an exciting opportunity to apply technical skills and expertise to improve the transit rider experience. The BSA is responsible for supporting multiple technology systems that generate or provide customer-facing information (e.g., trip plans, real-time predictions) and enable staff to provide accurate, customer-friendly support.The BSA will be responsible for the proper administration, maintenance, and implementation of technological, reporting, and analysis processes.
The range of BSA responsibilities and tasks include (but are not limited to):administration of transit applications and corresponding databases, software installations, patching, and upgrades; first responder for systems troubleshooting and service inquiries; managing integrations between systems; data mining, transformation, and warehousing; programming/coding and scripting; application development; root cause analysis; business process (re)design and documentation; business and use case development; lifecycle management (including divestiture); vendor management; contract management; technology sourcing; training and development; and project management.

What you would do in this job
Business Systems Analyst 2:
Management of departmental-specific Transit Information, Information Services (IS), and associated capabilities:
+ Database Administrator (DBA) and Developer level activities associated with departmental-specific SQL Server databases
+ Inclusive of IT system design, sourcing, data integration, implementation, training, and operational support
+ Managing Transit Information department PowerBI reports and dashboards
Management of Transit Information reporting and analysis:
+ Holistic management of reporting and visualizations/dashboards
+ Recurring and periodic root cause analysis, report development, and data mining, transformation, warehousing, deployment, presentation, and interpretation
Management of Transit Information systems and technology:
+ Technical liaison to departmental staff and with other departments, personnel, and enterprise support groups
+ First line of support and remediation within department for technology inquiries from staff and errors generated by departmental and enterprise systems and technology
+ Lead and drive completion of fixes and enhancements to IS-supported systems
+ Managing life cycle (e.g., upgrades, patches, etc.) and end-of-life activities for departmental technology
+ Administering data access, identity management, roles, and permissions processes for the department
+ Identification and development of solutions (e.g., available/supported in the enterprise, custom, or commercial-off-the-shelf) to address any process, workflow, or data integration gaps (including interdepartmental and enterprise-wide)
+ Leading large-scale departmental business system implementation projects from end-to-end including directing internal and enterprise staff and resources
+ Technical liaison in enterprise IS efforts affecting departmental technology and operations
+ Represent department on various enterprise technology governance, standards, security, and project management efforts, initiatives, and teams
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Business Systems Analyst 3:
The BSA 3 position is inclusive of all the job duties above but also engenders a broader understanding of business systems available and employed, a greater degree of independent judgment exercised, further autonomy and responsibility to perform more complex modifications and configurations within the business systems, and independent extensions and transformations of systems’ data and capabilities that facilitate decision-making and improve business processes. BSA 3 incumbents have a significant role in system and platform selection, analysis, problem identification, and recommendation/presentation of solutions and enhancements to upper management. BSA 3 positions lead organization-wide teams on system implementation projects and serve as a champion for business process improvements.
What education and experience are required for this job (minimum qualifications)
Business Systems Analyst 2, Non-Rep, Grade G:
Any of the following combinations of progressively responsible experience in management analysis and business systems administration, or related experience in a Business System Analyst capacity and closely related experienceAND completed education in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Finance, Business Administration, or closely related field.
+ High school diploma/GED with seven (7) years of experience
+ Associate's degree with five (5) years of experiences
+ Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of experience
+ Master's degree with one (1) year of experience
Business Systems Analyst 3, Non-Rep, Grade H:
Any of the following combinations of progressively responsible experience in management analysis and business systems administration, or related experience in a Business System Analyst capacity or closely related experienceAND completed education in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Finance, Business Administration, or closely related field. A minimum of one (1) year of experience must include performing configurations and modifications within specific business systems, or extracting, transforming, and deploying system data to support operational decision-making and drive business process improvements.
