Description:

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer with a strong background in backend engineering, specializing in application deployment, automated continuous integration testing, and performance monitoring. The ideal candidate will ensure the visibility of key metrics to inform developers' decision-making processes.

Rate: $45 - $50 an hour

_This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

+ **Communication and Collaboration:** Demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team environment. Share progress, seek assistance when needed, and provide constructive feedback to peers.

+ **Continuous Learning:** Exhibit a strong eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies, frameworks, and best practices in web development and cloud infrastructure management.

+ **Technology Knowledge:** Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills on existing and emerging agile best practices, relevant technologies, and security best practices.

Skills & Qualifications:

+ **Version Control:** Proficiency with version control systems like Git for collaborative development and managing codebase changes.

+ **Terraform:** Basic understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and experience with Terraform for provisioning and managing infrastructure resources on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

+ **CI/CD Pipelines:** Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD, and Jenkins.

+ **Scripting & Automation:** Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Go, and PowerShell.

+ **Linux & System Administration:** Strong understanding of file systems, process management, and performance tuning.

+ **AWS Services:** Familiarity with core AWS services, including:

+ AWS Lambda for serverless functions

+ AWS S3 for storage

+ AWS API Gateway for creating RESTful APIs

+ AWS DynamoDB for NoSQL databases

+ AWS EC2 for virtual servers

+ AWS RDS for managed relational databases

+ AWS CloudFront for content delivery

+ AWS CloudWatch for application monitoring

+ **Database Management:** Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.

Experience Requirements:

Required Experience:

+ 5 years of experience working with AWS, infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.), CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, etc.), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.), and scripting (Python, Bash, etc.).

+ 3 years of experience working with TypeScript/JavaScript.

Education Requirements:

Education:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.

Certification:

+ AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or equivalent

_Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range._
