+ The Trauma Injury Prevention/Outreach/Education Coordinator is responsible for essential aspects of the injury prevention, outreach and educational components of the trauma program.
+ As an integral member of the multidisciplinary trauma team, this coordinator position identifies and analyzes injury and outcome trends in order to develop programs consistent with trauma program objectives which include but are not be limited to:
1) Trauma education for staff and the community about injury prevention and trauma care
2) raising the visibility of Henry Ford Health System Trauma Centers through campus-specific public awareness and community outreach activities.
+ This role will reflect the most recent criteria outlined in the current American College of Surgeons (ACS) document Resource for the Optimal Care of the Injured Patient with respect to injury prevention, outreach and education.
• Position: 40 hours per week

+ INTERNAL CANDIDATES MUST APPLY WITH INTERNAL PROFILE
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
+ Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
+ Trauma Related Certification & Instructor Courses appropriate for institution as defined by institution Trauma Program Manager.
+ Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) preferred.
+ Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
+ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
+ Minimum of 2-3 years clinical experience in trauma patient care including experience in emergency or critical care nursing.
+ Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with trauma team members as well as external leaders and the public at large.
+ Membership in a Professional Trauma Organization.
+ Experienced and adept at utilizing Word, Excel, varied databases.
+ Experience in public speaking an asset.
+ Basic computer graphic design principles an asset.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
+ Current Michigan RN license.
+ Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
