    Summary:

    Meta is seeking an Engineering Manager to join the Capacity Engineering team to focus on site-wide performance and capacity optimization at the intersection of all Meta products and services, and all physical infrastructure (Servers, Data Centers, Network). This role will focus on leading, coaching, and growing a team of engineers to accelerate and optimize capacity fulfillment at various altitudes to balance service, infrastructure, financial, and business constraints, directly managing $Billions of investment per year. We do this primarily by building software and systems. This role will be uniquely positioned to optimize capacity fulfillment and scalably manage exceptions in the end-to-end capacity management process for Meta's entire fleet. This is one of the most cross functional roles at the company, with the opportunity to work with a variety of engineering and business teams to power the rapid growth of Meta’s products. This role will help to ensure optimal operation of our infrastructure from both a cost and technology perspective, with millions of servers, Gigawatts of data center capacity, and cutting edge technology including AI, Metaverse, etc. Help build one of the largest fleets, powering one of the largest internet services in the world!

    Required Skills:

    Manager, Performance and Capacity Engineering Responsibilities:

    1. Capacity fulfillment for all of Meta: all software products and services. Build a more automated and streamlined fulfillment process on top of Meta Capacity Planning Framework and Ecosystems across Supply Analysis, Spare Management, Growth Fulfillment, New Region Turn-Up, Capacity Reclaims, etc., to optimize fulfillment speed and maximize available capacity for fulfillment

    2. Build and maintain high performing team: Hire the best talent. Own career development and health of team to ensure continued growth in capability over time

    3. Assess team performance on an ongoing basis: address under-performance, recognize and promote performance

    4. Maximize the conditions for the team's success: ensure clarity in team vision, priorities, roadmap and key business context. Develop, maintain, and if needed, fix relationships with cross functional partners across technical and business functions

    5. Effectively navigate complex tradeoffs and relationships to balance solving for team, cross-functional partner / stakeholders, and Meta company priorities. Balance the need to “keep things running” with longer-term, high-impact projects

    6. Identify capacity-related issues proactively and work across technical and business teams to define and implement solutions

    7. Partner with leadership to influence and drive organization design and broader prioritization

    8. Measure the impact of your team and set clear expectations and goals

    9. Drive technical discussions: influence technical design and process in partnership with team, review key team outputs. Take on some technical IC work and have strategic influence technically

    10. Develop and maintain effective partnerships across technical and business teams including Product and Platform owners, Production Engineering, Server Hardware Engineering, Finance, and Planning teams to find the most optimal ways to scale our infrastructure in capacity management

    Minimum Qualifications:

    11. BS degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, or other technical field, or relevant practical experience

    12. 8+ years of engineering work experience, including 3+ years of hands-on engineering people-management

    13. Demonstrated experience with recruiting, developing, and leading technical teams

    14. Experience and demonstrated success with distributed systems and managing infrastructure at scale

    15. Experience managing ambiguity to deliver results

    16. Demonstrated success in managing challenging relationships and competing priorities with partners or customers

    Preferred Qualifications:

    17. Experience in coding/scripting languages such as Python, R, Java, C, C++, PHP

    18. Experience in capacity management and capacity fulfillment

    19. Experience in infrastructure operations and technical infrastructure knowledge

    Public Compensation:

    $177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
