    Phlebotomist

     

    Prometheus Federal Services (PFS), a trusted partner to federal health agencies, has an opening for a Phlebotomist. This individual will perform onsite phlebotomy and specimen processing. The work will be on-site at Fresno VA Medical Center in Fresno, CA.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    + Contract Phlebotomist shall primarily work in the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service Line.

    + Contract Phlebotomist shall have experience in providing direct and indirect patient care including experience performing venipunctures in a clinic or hospital setting.

    + Contract Phlebotomists (as appropriate and within scope of practice / privileging) shall be responsible for providing routine and STAT testing on blood, urine and other body fluids.

    + Services, including but not limited to:

    + Collecting, transporting, processing and evaluating specimen suitability for testing, including receiving, delivering, and storing specimens for all lab sections.

    + Contract Phlebotomist shall follow all established patient safety and infection control standards of care, contract phlebotomists shall make every effort to prevent falls, and patient injury caused by act of commission or omission in the delivery of care.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Minimum of one (1) year of recent Phlebotomy experience

    + Current Phlebotomy certification

    + Current BLS card (AHA preferred)

    + Proven ability to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently

    + Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship (all jobs)

    + Ability to obtain a public trust

    The work location is flexible if the company approves it, except that the position may not be performed remotely from Colorado.
