Seasonal Safety Specialist (6 Months)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, Hours are flexible between 7am and 5:30pm
What will you do?
A day in the life of a **Safety Specialist** at VF looks a little like this:
The Safety Specialist is responsible for supporting the Safety & Security management programs. This role has a strong focus on safety, incident investigations, auditing, training, recordkeeping, security, sustainability, ethics compliance, employee relations, and program implementation for location.
Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more:
+ Support the implementation of global health, safety, and security programs.
+ Assist in leading incident investigations and identifying root causes.
+ Evaluate facility practices and recommend improvements to reduce risk.
+ Assist in the management of safety KPIs and reporting for the Distribution Center utilizing VF’s safety management system.
+ Aid in ensuring all safety-related incidents at the Distribution Center are discussed, and followed up on by the leadership team, with appropriate actions taken to identify the root cause and resolve outstanding opportunities and corrective actions.
+ Deliver safety training in a clear, concise, and effective manner. Support the facility in maintaining safety recordkeeping documentation.
+ Aid in leading monthly Health & Safety Committee meetings to promote health and safety in the workplace by establishing communication and cooperation between employees and management.
+ Assist in completing required safety and security audits and related action items, including following up with action item owners as needed.
+ Regularly meet with VF North America network Health and Safety team to ensure compliance standards are met, company goals are achieved, and shared best practices are being implemented.
+ Assist in ensuring loss prevention guidelines and operating procedures for the Distribution Center are met, and the facility remains in compliance with security requirements set forth by best practice standards.
+ Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills:
+ High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
+ Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
+ Clear and consistent communication skills.
+ Ability to lead and influence others professionally.
+ Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Experience:
+ 3 years of safety-related experience (preferred but not required).
+ Familiarity with safety audits, training delivery, and incident investigation.
Physical Demands:
+ Stand and/or walk during shift between 8 to 12 hours
+ Lift, push, pull and move boxes up to 50 pounds
+ Bend, squat, twist, reach above the head, kneel, crouch and/or stretch
+ Use manual dexterity in hands, wrists, and feet
+ Noise level varies and can be loud
