As a **Security Officer -** **- Government Center Patrol - Full Time** in **Portsmouth, VA** , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal at a prominent government location, you will play a vital role in helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a secure environment for all individuals on site. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols of designated areas, staying visible to provide a reassuring presence, and offering exceptional customer service to everyone you encounter. What You’ll Do:

+ Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

+ Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education

+ Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams

+ Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service

+ Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

+ Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies when appropriate.

+ Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner.

+ Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.

+ Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related incidents in accordance with Allied Universal procedures.

+ Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, visitors, and staff at the location.

+ Complete required documentation and/or incident reports accurately and in a timely manner.

+ Support emergency response efforts as needed, following all site-specific protocols and Allied Universal guidelines.

+ Availability across various days and shifts

+ Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments

+ Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements:

+ A valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by TSA is required.

+ A valid Guard Card or license is preferred.

+ Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

+ Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

+ Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

+ As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

+ Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

+ A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
