The Idaho Transportation Department is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Project Manager 1 to be part of our Materials section in Lewiston, Idaho. Our team is looking for someone with a strong background in Materials testing and likes working with diverse stakeholders in a culture that promotes innovation and collaboration. This position will support the District Two Materials Lab and help ensure prompt and accurate delivery of test results.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
+ Compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and standards
+ Expertise with materials testing and Quality Assurance Program Management
+ Provides WAQTC and Idaho individual test method training and completes competency evaluations. Is responsible to assess individual’s performance exam for all WAQTC modules and is responsible for qualifying Department, contractor, and consultant testers in 16 Idaho individual test methods.
+ Develop and present training to groups
+ Develop reports and supporting the delivery of the transportation program
+ Working with Projectwise, MAPS, development of MSR, AASHTOWare, Materials Design and Construction software.
+ Manage resources and resolving conflicts on transportation projects
+ Management of Transportation project budgets including determination of federal aid eligibility
+ Interpret and apply federal, state and local laws and working with state and local government operations relating to transportation construction projects
+ Maintain a Quality Management System for a laboratory, field inspection, and assessment of testing. This work includes: a yearly laboratory calibration inspection to identify non-compliant equipment, ensures proper maintenance and calibration for Department, contractor, and consultant laboratories.
+ Manage and coordinate statewide for successful sample management and prompt delivery of test results
Radiation Safety Officer
+ Monitor and measure radiation doses to the public and to the technicians operating radioactive gauges to keep the public and technician safe from exposure to radiation
+ Manage nuclear density gauge program for the District to keep in compliance with the
Nuclear Regulatory commission;
+ Supervise Transportation Staff Engineer Assistants on operation of nuclear density gauges
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
+ Planning and implementing projects including coordinating the development of project scope, goals, work plans, timelines, implementation strategies, and measurement processes/methods for assessing progress toward goals and project outcomes
+ Interpreting and explaining specialized or complex material into information usable by the public Developing and monitoring contracts
Desired Qualifications:
+ Must have a deep understanding of American Society for Testing and Materials, (ASTM), and the American Association of State Highway and Transportation, (AASHTO) Standards.
+ Must have excellent knowledge of mechanical systems involving testing equipment.
+ Must be able to perform lifting greater than 50 lb and able to work in all weather conditions
