    About the Indiana Commission for Higher Education (CHE):

    The Indiana Commission for Higher Education (CHE) collaborates with multiple partners to facilitate Indiana’s goal to implement the HOPE (Hoosier Opportunities and Possibilities through Education) Agenda aimed at raising Indiana’s college attainment rate, from short-term credentials through graduate degrees.     Role Overview:

    The Outreach Coordinator - Central Region serves as a regionally based professional charged with facilitating outreach, engagement, and support for programs, policies, and partnerships designed to increase the college-going rate for Hoosier K-12 students and their families. This position is tasked with regionally implementing strategy and direction provided by the Director of K-12 Outreach and Postsecondary Transitions under the Senior Associate Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer. Daily efforts will focus on strengthening the utilization of Indiana's 21st Century Scholars Award and Frank O'Bannon Grant, increasing FAFSA filing, and promoting the Learn More Indiana brand and suite of resources. This position must interact effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Internally the position will most interact with the Postsecondary Transitions and Marketing and Communications teams. In addition to engaging with students, families, and the media, the position will engage in mutually beneficial external partnerships in alignment with the Commission's HOPE agenda: Hoosier Opportunities & Possibilities through Education.

     

    + This position is tasked with daily efforts focusing on strengthening the utilization of Indiana's 21st Century Scholars Award and Frank O'Bannon Grant, increasing FAFSA filing, and promoting the Learn More Indiana brand and suite of resources to middle and high schools in their designated region.

    + This position requires managing multiple projects and priorities, which require strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and interpersonal abilities.

    + Incumbent will travel the designated region for the Central region which includes Marion County, but can reside in any of the following counties: Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Johnson, Marion, Morgan, or Shelby.

    + Required to travel designated region daily, which requires a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle. Will include some nights and weekends.

    + Incumbent performs duties in a remote office environment and various locations around the designated region.

     

    Note:This position is funded through an external grant

    Salary Statement:

    This position starts at an annual salary of $45,000.

     

    A Day in the Life:

     

    This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.

    Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

    This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
