    Job Title: 1st Shift Welder

    Job Description

    Join our team in a dynamic role as a Welder, working on shell and tube heat exchangers, ASME Pressure Vessels, and Tanks. You will handle projects up to 15 feet in diameter, 120 feet in length, and weighing up to 320,000 pounds.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform welding on shell and tube heat exchangers and ASME Pressure Vessels.

    + Work with Tanks of significant size and weight, ensuring quality and safety.

    + Utilize MIG, FCA, FCAW, AWS, TIG, Flux, and dual shield welding techniques.

    + Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols accurately.

    + Apply mathematical skills for precise measurements and fabrication tasks.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in MIG Welding and Flux Core Welding.

    + Solid knowledge of welding symbols.

    + Experience with weld, fab, and fitter tasks.

    + Ability to read blueprints and perform calculations involving diameter, pi, and degree lines.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in Layout and Fabrication Welding.

    + Blueprint Reading skills (training available).

    + Previous certification in code welding.

    + AWS certification is desirable.

    + Welding school degree or certifications.

    + Experience with TIG tubing and sub-arc (S.A.W.).

    + Back gouging proficiency is advantageous.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a spacious environment with four buildings spread across a 6-acre site, featuring 50,000 square feet of production floor space. Engage in projects involving large products over 100 feet long and weighing more than 60 tons. This position operates on the 1st shift, from 6am to 2:30pm.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Decatur, Illinois.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
