    Senior Software Engineer

    Job Description

    The Sr Software Engineer designs functional, reliable, and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle components. This role involves engineering analysis, design or re-design, and the development of components for both existing and new vehicles. The engineer provides integration and execution support for vehicle and component design.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks under supervision according to industry standards and processes.

    + Support engineers in preparing plans, designs, and computation methods.

    + Manage projects or parts of projects of limited complexity, possibly multiple projects.

    + Collaborate with internal engineering or business support disciplines and external suppliers.

    + Provide guidance or mentorship to entry-level engineers, designers, or technicians.

    + Maintain effective communication with suppliers, customers, and outside resources on technical issues.

    + Enforce engineering criteria and drawing standards within company policies and procedures.

    + Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.

    + Prepare layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.

    + Conduct engineering analysis to select parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.

    + Provide technical assistance for production support.

    + Analyze and resolve engineering issues and communicate status through verbal or written communication.

    + Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.

    + Create and maintain project documentation for analysis, research, and historical records.

    + Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to optimize designs.

    Essential Skills

    + 3+ years of relevant industry experience.

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Systems, or Software Engineering

    + Prior exposure to military combat systems

    + Knowledge of video signal design and transmission systems

    + Experience applying root-cause problem-solving methodologies

    + Experience in electro-mechanical system integration

    + Hands-on experience with product testing, test labs, or hardware-in-the-loop testing environments.

    + Strong technical writing skills with experience creating engineering documentation.

    + Familiarity with data acquisition tools and post-processing techniques

    Work Environment

    This is a full-time position requiring onsite presence. The work involves collaboration with various engineering disciplines and external suppliers, ensuring a dynamic and interactive environment. The role demands adherence to engineering standards and company policies, providing a structured yet innovative workspace.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
