Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician
Job Description
A world-renowned hospital in Palo Alto is seeking a skilled Facilities Generalist with experience in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) to support a school building. The ideal candidate is a jack of all trades, with the ability to perform a variety of maintenance tasks across different trades. Comfort with electronic work orders and iPad use is essential.
Responsibilities
+ Install, maintain, and repair plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, including equipment such as boilers, pumps, motors, and fans.
+ Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment and building systems according to schedules, such as changing filters, replacing belts, and lubricating bearings.
+ Perform general carpentry, painting, and minor construction tasks, such as repairing walls, floors, and doors, using hand and power tools.
+ Diagnose and resolve issues with mechanical and electrical equipment and various building systems.
+ Respond to facility-related complaints and work requests, complete documentation for tasks performed, and maintain records.
+ Oversee and guide less-skilled staff and coordinate with outside contractors for repairs or specialized tasks.
+ Routinely inspect assigned buildings and spaces to identify potential issues and initiate corrective actions.
+ Adhere to safety procedures and regulations, such as those from OSHA, to ensure a safe working environment.
Essential Skills
+ Knowledge and experience in basic trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and HVAC systems.
+ Ability to use diagnostic tools and hand and power tools for repairs and maintenance.
+ Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve equipment and facility issues.
+ Effective communication with internal teams and external contractors.
+ Capability to work in various environments, including working on ladders and scaffolding, and perform manual tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with boiler systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, industrial tasks, painting, drywall, wiring, and motors.
+ Familiarity with Maximo or similar CMMS is beneficial but not required.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Stanford, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $49.34 - $55.58/hr.
