    Job Title: Maintenance Technician

    Job Description

    The maintenance technician will be responsible for mechanical and electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair throughout the facility. This role involves monitoring, repairing, and adjusting various manufacturing equipment and systems, including hydraulic thermoforming presses, ovens, robotic waterjets, and three-phase motors. You will also work with Siemens PLCs & HMIs. This is a multi-craft industrial maintenance position involving mechanical, electrical, and controls work, including troubleshooting programs and drives using a laptop. The facility manufactures sound-deadening interior parts for the automotive industry in a fast-paced environment.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform manufacturing-related equipment PMs.

    + Safely troubleshoot live electrical panels.

    + Participate in problem-solving groups and lean manufacturing activities.

    + Contribute to the maintenance department's efforts towards achieving key measures.

    + Continuously learn to support processes such as thermal forming, adhesive, molding, Isocyanate foam, high-pressure water, and assembly processes.

    + Operate Powered Industrial Trucks, aerial lifts, and cranes.

    + Edit and modify control programs on programmable devices such as A-B, SLC-500, Control Logics, Panel View, and Panelview plus.

    Essential Skills

    + 3+ years working in a maintenance department in a manufacturing environment.

    + 3+ years working with and maintaining automated machinery.

    + 1+ years of electrical troubleshooting experience.

    + Strong mechanical experience

    + Ability to read machine drawings and control schematics.

    + Willingness to work overtime as needed and work any production shift.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Automotive experience is a plus.

    + Robot and robotic control experience (Fanuc, Motoman, ABB) is a plus.

    + Electrical journeyman card is a plus.

    + Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) system is a plus.

    + Experience with smart cameras (Keyence, Cognex) is a plus.

    + Ability to use basic machining tools, powered hand tools, and other maintenance-related equipment.

    Work Environment

     

    The facility manufactures interior sound-deadening material for the automotive industry, characterized by a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive culture. The plant spans nearly 300,000 sq. ft., with a significant portion of work done for major automotive manufacturers and suppliers. Employees typically work 50 hours a week, including most Saturdays and some Sundays, with double time compensation. Available shifts include: 1st shift (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday), 2nd shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Monday-Friday, with a $2/hr premium), and 3rd shift (11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, Sunday-Friday Morning, with a $1.25/hr premium).

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Battle Creek, Michigan.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
