We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Staff Accountant to join our growing team in Niceville, Florida. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in accounting who is eager to grow into a more strategic and data-driven role. The ideal candidate will support both daily accounting operations and long-term financial analysis, particularly in a manufacturing environment with government contracts.
Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Accounting Operations
+ Manage accounts payable (50%) and accounts receivable (25%), ensuring timely and accurate processing.
+ Perform daily billing for firm-fixed contracts and monthly cycle billing for time & materials contracts.
+ Maintain detailed accounting records including bank reconciliations, general ledger, and subsidiary ledgers.
+ Reconcile staff expenses and vendor payments.
Cost Accounting & Inventory
+ Support cost accounting functions specific to manufacturing, including tracking of materials, labor, and overhead.
+ Work with Fishbowl inventory software integrated with QuickBooks to manage inventory and production data.
+ Track and reconcile assets, including depreciation of machinery and equipment.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
+ Prepare and analyze profit-and-loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and income statements.
+ Assist in preparing budget forecasts and support management with financial planning.
+ Contribute to monthly and year-end financial statements and assist with quarterly reviews for external auditors.
+ Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction or revenue enhancement.
Compliance & ERP Transition
+ Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and other government reporting requirements (training provided).
+ Assist with internal audits and documentation for government contracts.
+ Support the company’s transition to Deltek ERP in 2027, which will unify time & materials and firm-fixed billing under one system.
Required Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
+ Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis tools).
+ Strong understanding of general ledger, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
+ Ability to learn and apply government contracting and manufacturing accounting principles.
+ Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
Preferred Experience
+ Experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
+ Familiarity with Fishbowl or similar inventory/MRP systems.
+ Exposure to government contracts or FAR compliance.
+ Interest in ERP systems and process improvement.
Growth Opportunity

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
