Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves engineering and designing new wheelchair accessible vehicles from concept to manufacturing. You will be responsible for the integration of all vehicle systems, setting development strategies, and maintaining corporate objectives.

Responsibilities

+ Engineer, design, and develop new vehicle conversions using CAD (Inventor).

+ Design mechanisms, suspensions, structures, and closures such as doors and liftgates.

+ Plan for design, procurement, assembly, and validation requirements in line with project timelines and strategies.

+ Ensure vehicle designs and systems meet quality and cost targets.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet all requirements.

+ Suggest cost-effective design alternatives and standardization.

+ Build and design prototype vehicles.

+ Continuously improve designs, processes, and timing while maintaining project specifications.

+ Participate in design reviews to ensure vehicle conversions meet or exceed requirements.

+ Review designs with peers to ensure adherence to best practices and anticipate design challenges.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology.

+ 8+ years in a product/mechanical design role.

+ 5+ years in full product development.

+ Exposure to automotive industry (Tier 1, Tier 2, or OEM).

+ Experience in product development of moving parts (electrical and mechanical).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in automotive industry is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment is an updated office setting. You will be part of a team of 13 engineers. The position may require travel to Winamac 2-3 days a week during peak project seasons. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
