    Job Title: Civil/Structural Engineer (Hybrid) - Lake Mary, FL

    Job Description

    We are seeking a qualified and experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to support the structural engineering work of SCR gas duct systems for power applications. This role involves designing and analyzing ductwork and structural components necessary for an SCR system. The candidate will be required to travel and spend a few months at our New Jersey office for training purposes, with all travel and accommodation expenses covered.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform design and analysis of ductwork and structural components for the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) gas duct system.

    + Collect, review, interpret, and integrate design requirements from various stakeholders including customers, suppliers, and the parent company.

    + Prepare and review engineering technical requirements and material estimates to support project proposals and bid strategies.

    + Provide troubleshooting support for ductwork and structural components.

    + Coordinate with selected fabricators and erection contractors.

    + Inspect, supervise, and support fabrication and erection activities.

    + Review and verify shop fabrication documents.

    + Enhance structural design standards for equipment skid base designs and pipe support systems.

    + Coordinate with third-party consultants when outsourcing is necessary.

    + Prepare and review budgets, bids, technical requirements, and commercial requirements.

    + Ensure arrangement and foundation interface information meets requirements.

    + Interface with internal and external teams to ensure design interface information for the SCR system is accurate.

    + Complete projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with applicable codes and standards.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in STAAD.Pro.

    + Experience with Smart Plant 3D, Tekla, or Revit for creating integrated designs in a 3D environment.

    + Familiarity with AutoCAD or MicroStation for 2D CAD drafting.

    + Experience in structural analysis and generating structure reports.

    + Ability to answer questions from EPC.

    + Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

    + Minimum of 10 years of experience in a related engineering field.

    + Familiarity with high-temperature ductwork design for power plants and boiler applications.

    + Knowledge of ASCE 7, IBC, AISC, ACI, API, AWS, ANSI, ASTM, OSHA, and industry standards.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience with SAP2000 and GT STRUDL is a plus.

    + Experience in the Power or Oil & Gas industry is highly desirable.

    + Strong language skills to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and write reports.

    + Mathematical skills including probability, statistical inference, plane and solid geometry, thermodynamics, and trigonometry.

    Work Environment

    The Lake Mary office serves as the North American HQ for Plant Engineering and includes a multi-disciplinary team with expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Structural, Controls, and Project Management. The team consists of over 100 professionals. The role requires up to 10% travel.

    This is a Permanent position based in Lake Mary, Florida.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
