• Metrology Engineer

    Description

    We’re seeking a highly skilled CMM/Dimensional Metrology Engineer to lead the development and implementation of CMM and Vision System programs, inspection fixtures, and measurement strategies for both new product development and production. This role plays a critical part in ensuring precision, compliance, and efficiency across our quality operations.

    Key Accountabilities:

    - Develop, validate, and optimize CMM programs for dimensional inspection

     

    - Maximize efficiency and repeatability of CMM and Vision System processes

     

    - Collaborate with toolmakers to design and build custom gauges and fixtures

     

    - Support cross-functional teams in quality-related initiatives and continuous improvement

    Responsibilities:

    - Apply GD&T principles (ASME Y14.5) at a technologist level to support inspection and analysis

     

    - Mentor technicians in metrology applications and measurement techniques

     

    - Interpret and implement tolerance regimes, including micro-scale metrology

     

    - Utilize contact and non-contact sensors (CMMs, Vision Systems) for 1D, 2D, and 3D measurement

     

    - Perform basic Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), including GR&R and statistical validation

     

    - Assist in NPI and manufacturing projects requiring dimensional verification

     

    - Interface with customers and suppliers to align on quality standards and project goals

     

    - Apply national and international standards in selection and acceptance testing of measurement systems

     

    - Promote a culture of safety and compliance across all quality activities

     

    - Contribute to other quality engineering tasks as assigned

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    Calypso preferred for CMM programming

     

    ProE preferred for CAD

     

    Experience in the medical device industry preferred

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
