    HVAC Servicing Technician ($23.50/hr + $6/hr H&W)

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated HVAC Technician to perform HVAC maintenance at Fort Sill. This role requires a professional who is experienced in maintaining and repairing hydronic and refrigeration systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform maintenance and repair on hydronic and refrigeration systems, including air handling units, DX coil/condensing units, fan coil units, and variable air volume (VAV) units.

    + Maintain, repair, or replace domestic and heating hot water boilers up to 1,000,000 BTU, and commercial/residential HVAC systems under 25 tons.

    + Follow mechanical code for installing and replacing HVAC systems.

    + Mount compressor and condenser units using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications.

    + Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis parts using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment.

    + Install evaporator units in chassis or air-duct systems using hand tools.

    + Cut and bend tubing to correct length and shape using cutting/bending equipment and tools.

    + Cut and thread pipe using machine-threading or hand-threading equipment.

    + Join tubing or pipes to refrigerating units using sleeves, couplings, or unions, and solder joints using a torch.

    + Connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating fans to control panels and power source.

    + Inject refrigerant into compressors to test systems and add freon gas to achieve prescribed operating pressure.

    + Observe pressure and vacuum gauges and adjust controls for proper operation.

    + Test joints and connections for gas leaks using gauges or a soap and water solution.

    + Replace defective breaker controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring using electrician’s tools and test equipment.

    Essential Skills

    + **EPA Universal Certification**

    + 2 to 5+ years of HVAC experience or a combination of experience and formal vocational training.

    + Experience troubleshooting HVAC systems.

    + Possess valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.

    + Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access.

    + Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal direction and supervision.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $61360.00/yr.
