We are seeking a highly motivated **Senior Principal Systems Engineer** to join our team in Aurora, CO. This role will provide technical support and oversight for complex space systems projects and is responsible for coordinating Systems Engineering activities across Space Vehicle, System SEIT, and Communication Payload Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), as well as managing external interfaces and ensuring systems integration. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with cross-disciplinary teams in supporting the development and maturation of the overall System design and architecture as the program progresses and ensure the successful execution of deliverables to meet program milestones.
Responsibilities:
+ **Systems Engineering Oversight:** Coordinate Systems Engineering activities across Space Vehicle, System SEIT, and Comm Payload IPTs, ensuring technical integrity and alignment with program objectives.
+ **Cross-Segment Collaboration:** Ensure Ground architecture and requirements are aligned with other segments and external systems, fostering effective system integration and communication.
+ **Interface Management:** Oversee and manage external interfaces to support system integration and operability.
+ **Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE):** Apply MBSE methodologies and tools, with a strong preference for CAMEO experience, to support system modeling and design decisions throughout the engineering lifecycle.
+ **Risk Management:** Identify and mitigate risks associated with system design and integration, ensuring project timelines and deliverables are met.
Basic Qualifications:
+ 8 Years of relevant experience with Bachelors in Science in a STEM degree; 6 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD
+ Working knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
+ Experience coordinating with various team members across subsystems during the development process
+ Experience in architecting systems and developing requirements to support system designs
+ Demonstrated experience in CAMEO or other Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools for architecture design
+ Strong collaboration, communication, and leadership skills
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
+ Risk and Opportunity Management experience
+ **Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required at time of application**
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with Ground and Space systems and/or Command and Control systems
+ Proven track record in aligning ground architecture and requirements with other segments and external systems
+ Verification and Validation (V&V) experience
+ Systems engineering experience supporting PDR/CDR-level design or later lifecycle phases
Primary Level Salary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
