Description

Job purpose

We are seeking and dependable Technician Electrician to join our team. The Technician Electrician will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment in commercial or industrial settings. This role will involve strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and strict adherence to safety standards. 8-koi; a diverse Florida based service and consulting company that has been providing outstanding results for our clients for over a decade.

Duties and responsibilities

+ Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, systems, fixtures, and equipment.

+ Read and interpret technical diagrams, electrical blueprints, and schematics.

+ Inspect electrical system and components to identify hazards, defects, and necessary repairs to ensure proper operation.

+ Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.

+ Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions.

+ Diagnose electrical malfunctions using appropriate testing devices.

+ Perform testing on circuits, connections, and components using appropriate tools, equipment, and regulations (e.g., NEC, OSHA)

+ Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to complete projects efficiently.

+ Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and installations.

+ Train and provide guidance to apprentices or junior electricians as needed.

+ Respond to emergency electrical calls and perform timely repairs.

Qualifications

+ Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g., wire strippers, voltmeter, etc.) and able to follow prints and instructions

+ Self-motivated and driven to get the job done correctly and quickly, utilizing excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability

+ Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

+ Must have manual dexterity and be able to:

+ Lift and carry heavy objects

+ Climb ladders, scaffolding, and/or stairs and perform work from tall heights

+ Stand, bend, and crouch for long periods of time

+ Fit into and work within tight spaces

+ Have the ability to distinguish between colors for wiring tasks

+ Perform electrical work in adverse weather conditions and temperatures

+ Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Working conditions

Working conditions may require overtime, weekend, or on-call shifts.

Work involves exposure to high voltage, moving machinery, and construction sites.

Use of PPE (personal protective equipment) is mandatory.
