Join our dedicated team at UPMC Northwest as a flexible full-time Patient Care Technician on the Behavioral Health Inpatient Unit-make a meaningful impact every day while working variable shifts in a supportive and dynamic environment. Shifts are typically 8 hours and are primarily day and evening based with some nights required as needed. Rotating weekends and holidays are required. Candidates with a background in behavioral health/mental health/substance abuse are encouraged to apply!

Responsibilities:
+ Support patient care by assisting with daily living activities, procedures, and therapies under RN supervision.
+ Accurately document care provided and report changes in patient status to the RN.
+ Respond to patient needs by answering call lights, delivering meals, and transporting patients within the facility.
+ Assist in educating patients and families and apply or monitor restraints per policy.
+ Communicate effectively with the care team and maintain a respectful, team-oriented approach.
+ Follow all hospital policies, safety procedures, and infection control standards.
+ Support quality initiatives and department operations by identifying improvement opportunities and actively participating in team efforts.
+ High school diploma or GED required.
+ One of the following is also required:
+ 1 year of general healthcare experience,
+ 6+ months as a UPMC NA/CNA with PCT competency,
+ Enrollment in a healthcare training program (PT/OT/PA) with one clinical rotation completed, or
+ Bachelor's degree in a health sciences field.
+ Successful completion of UPMC Patient Care Technician class and eRecord training upon hire.
+ CPR or BLS certification (AHA-compliant) required within 30 days of hire; ACLS preferred.
