Position Overview:
SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is hiring for the position of Deputy to the Director of the office of Contractor Assurance Contract Management (CACM). This Deputy position reports to the CACM Director.
The CACM Deputy will partner with the CACM Director to provide leadership, vision, management, direction, oversight, strategic and tactical planning in executing all aspects of the Laboratory¿s integrated Contractor Assurance System (CAS), Contract Management (CM), and Quality Assurance (QA) programs.
SLAC¿s integrated CAS, CM and QA programs are designed to enable outstanding science and operational excellence, while ensuring compliance with SLAC prime contract requirements with the US Department of Energy (DOE) as well as other applicable requirements.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
+ The CACM Deputy will support and partner with the CACM Director to provide Leadership in implementing an integrated CAS to support the Laboratory¿s efforts to safely, effectively, and efficiently deliver its mission and projects, while achieving operational excellence.
+ Assist in the evaluation of the performance of the DOE/Stanford prime contract and providing reasonable assurance to Stanford University and DOE that the Laboratory has a set of management systems and processes which fulfill contract requirements.
+ Collaborate on the administration, maintenance and oversight of all elements of SLAC¿s Performance Assurance system, including but not limited to enterprise risk management issues, external and internal assessments, institutional quality metrics and trending, institutional policies and requirements, corrective actions management, effective lessons learned implementation and continuous improvement. Coordinate with CACM Director, Legal Counsel and CM team, and assist in oversight of the Laboratory¿s completion of Prime Contract deliverables.
+ Assist the CACM Director to provide oversight, advice, and counsel SLAC management and staff on all CAS-related matters.
+ Aid CACM team in managing and improving processes and tools that provide DOE, SLAC and Stanford University access to CAS-related information and notify stakeholders of assurance system changes.
+ Coordinate with CACM Director and Enterprise Risk Management System (ERMS) program manager on the Laboratory¿s enterprise risk management process.
+ Collaborate with CACM Director to develop strategies on the implementation of quality assurance functions
+ Hire, mentor, counsel and retain staff, provide personal development opportunities for direct reports, and remain accountable for the performance of employees.
To be successful in this position you will bring:
+ A bachelor¿s degree in a field related to science, business administration, engineering, management or a related field.and seven years of relevant experience in operations management, project management, quality assurance or risk management.
+ Advanced knowledge and extensive experience working in enterprise risk management, assurance, or quality programs, as well as developing and implementing risk management frameworks and performance metrics. Implementation and management of these programs in a research and development or academic organization is preferred.
+ Experience and expertise in issues management (e.g., incident investigations, root and apparent cause analyses, lessons learned programs, etc.).
+ Demonstrated strategic leadership planning and change management skills.
+ Ability to successfully build relationships with senior managers and internal and external constituents.
+ Able to influence people, troubleshoot complex issues, think creatively and resolve conflicts.
+ Experience understanding, interpreting, and retrieving needed information from data sources, policies, procedures, laws, regulations, terminology, schedules, and personnel.
+ Experience in collecting and analyzing performance data, ability to review and report institutional performance against an organization¿s strategy.
+ Expert communication to deliver information at all levels of the organization with different types of personnel and communication styles in a tactful, professional, influencing, motivating manner while maintaining confidentiality.
+ Strong knowledge of industry standards, trends and regulatory requirements.
+ Experience with the development and implementation of complex regulatory programs and policies.
In addition, preferred requirements include:
+ Experience at federally funded research and development centers, especially those funded by the U.S. Department of Energy.
+ Knowledge of Federal Government Contractor Assurance systems.
+ Certification or demonstrated experience with Quality Management System such as ISO or others.
+ Technical writing skills, high level report writing and review.

_The expected pay range for this position is $206,749 - $261,619 per annum. SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory/Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
