Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Report Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business intelligence, data modeling, and report development, with a passion for delivering actionable insights and driving data-driven decision-making. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to design, build, and optimize Power BI solutions that meet business needs and adhere to best practices in data governance and visualization.

Skills and Requirements

-Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on Power BI Desktop development, including star schema modeling, calculated columns/measures, and advanced DAX (iterators, CALCULATE/filters, time-intelligence).

-ETL & Data Querying: Solid SQL skills (joins, window functions, CTEs), data profiling, reconciliation to source, and experience using Azure Data Factory (ADF) for data integration.

-Visualization & UX: Expertise in selecting appropriate visuals, bookmarks, drill-through, tooltips, field parameters, and accessibility basics.

-Performance Tuning: Proven ability to optimize model size, relationships, filter directions, VertiPaq fundamentals, and use DAX Studio/Performance Analyzer for query plans.

-Security & Governance: Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS), sensitivity labels, dataset permissions, and understanding data privacy levels.

-Power BI Service: Proficient in workspace management, app publishing, scheduled refresh, gateway configuration, and report endorsement/certification.

-Testing & Documentation: Strong conventions for measure naming, calculation validation, changelogs, and user guide creation. -Copilot/AI: Familiarity with enabling AI features in Power BI reports.

-Microsoft Fabric: Awareness of Lakehouse/Warehouse basics, Direct Lake vs Import/DirectQuery trade-offs.

-SSAS Cube: Experience creating and updating measures and dimensions.

-Advanced DAX: Knowledge of semi-additive measures, disconnected tables, calculation groups (Tabular Editor).

-Data Quality: Experience with data quality checks, reconciliation dashboards, handling late-arriving data, and slowly changing dimensions.

-Custom Visuals & Scripting: Use of certified visuals, Python/R for custom visuals.

-Azure Stack: Familiarity with ADLS/OneLake, AAD/Entra ID, Synapse/Databricks, and on-prem gateway administration.

-Usage Monitoring: Experience with audit logs, activity metrics, adoption, and SLA reporting.

-Stakeholder Skills: Strong requirements elicitation, wireframing, storytelling with data, and iterative delivery.
