**The community you'll be caring for:** AdventHealth Winter Park

+ Winter Park Memorial Hospital has continuously served the residents of Winter Park and its surrounding communities for more than 50 years

+ Chartered in 1951, the hospital has grown from the visionary efforts of a handful of Winter Park residents and community leaders, to a 307-bed acute care facility that is a model of community health and wellness

+ Over the years the hospital has continually expanded to meet the needs of the community, adding an upscale obstetrics and Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at The Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place, cancer care at the AdventHealth Cancer Institute, Winter Park, and state-of-the-art surgery, recovery and rehabilitation at the AdventHealth Orthopedic Institute

The role you'll contribute:

Provides direct and indirect services in Advent Health Rehabilitation or Advent Health for Children. Utilizes process improvement in achieving the goals of the department. Provides therapeutic recreation activities and interventions for adult or pediatric patients and families. Serves as a primary resource for S.T.A.R. (Sensory, Tactile, Auditory, Rockstar) patients at Advent Health for Children. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

The value you'll bring to the team:

+ Performs evaluations and re-evaluations according to department standards. Establishes implements and adapts individualized treatment plans for patients including goals, treatment activities, and frequency.

+ Develops, plans, and facilitates individual and group recreational therapy sessions daily.

+ Provides age & developmentally appropriate education for patient & caregiver(s) regarding the importance of continued participation in leisure activities, as well as exploration of new recreation and leisure activities.

+ Utilizes therapeutic play as a primary resource in normalizing the hospital environment for patients/siblings in AdventHealth for Children while also promoting opportunities for mastery/control and socialization.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed** **:

+ Bachelor's in Therapeutic Recreation.

+ CTRS - Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist

+ NCTRC - Recreational Therapist

+ BCLS - Basic Life Support (not required for Advent Health for Children recreational therapists)
