    Description

    SAIC is seeking an **Engineering Tech /Communication Equipment Installer** for our customer site in **North Charleston, SC** to support MADIS (Marine Air Defense Integrated System) program to install cable, mounting kits and other equipment in JLTV (Joint Light Tactical Vehicle), Polaris MRZR, Utility Terrain Vehicles (UTV), and Ultra-Light Tactical Vehicle (ULTV).

    Job Description:

    + Supports engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly

    + Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions

    + Construct components, subunits, or simple models, adapt standard equipment, and troubleshoot system failures through various skill methods to correct malfunctions

    + Conduct routine repair, retrofit, systems integration, calibration and testing; in-line repair and testing; operation of test equipment

    + Assist in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts

    Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience:

    + Associate degree in engineering technology, or formal electronics training from: Technical School, Class A or B Military school in electronics or communications; or High School and 4 years of related experience

    Required Experience:

    + Must have appropriate experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair of digital computers, computer peripheral/ interface equipment, VME based systems, digital, switches, radio frequency transmitters, receivers, antennas, and modems

    Required Clearance:

    + Must be able to obtain a Public Trust

    + US Citizenship is required to meet the security requirements for this contract
