The Role at a Glance
The Communications Specialist II, under general supervision, writes, edits, designs and assists in the production of informational and promotional materials, presentations and special events.
This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications.
Qualifications of the Role
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Two years of Communications, Marketing or other relevant experience.
+ Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Equivalency: Will consider an associate’s degree with four years of Communications, Marketing, or other relevant experience or a high school diploma/GED with six years of Communications, Marketing, or other relevant experience.
Essential Duties, Tasks, and Percentages:
Content Creation – 70%
+ Drafts content for internal and external use, including news articles and press releases, adhering to journalistic standards.
+ Conducts interviews with internal and external stakeholders for articles or other marketing materials.
+ Disseminates written information to the media.
+ Develops and actively contributes ideas for content, visuals and stories with a focus on increasing audience engagement.
Communication Strategy – 20%
+ Assists in implementing agency communication strategy.
+ Pulls and presents analytics to be used in developing agency communication strategy.
+ Posts to internal and external websites.
+ Assists with internal and external events.
Project Management – 10%
+ Establishes timelines for projects.
+ Coordinates with team members to ensure the project is completed according to the established timeline.
